Is there any legal requirement to have "shooting participation certificate, Rifle Association/Club Membership alongwith recommendation letter for increase in limit of ammo from NRAI" for increasing the ammo quota from 25/50 to higher level.

If no, any delhi member who has got his quota increased without having above qualifications, do share how he has proceeded in the matter.

You can get the ammunition increased only if you are at least state level shooter. Please take your shooter Id card along with competition certificate and apply for 1000 cartridges in shooter category.

To increase the ammo quota from 25 to 50 you don't have to be a professional shooter. Anyone having a license can apply for increase in ammo.

Yes you can apply but only upto 50. Sainikji asked that he wants to get the ammo increased from 50 to higher level.

But even if one manages to get ammo quota increased above 50, no gun house owner will issue more than 50 in a year on one license as they have been instructed to do so.

Yes you are right that no Arms dealer will give more than 50 cartridges as this is the law my government. Only in Chandigarh Arms dealer can issue as much cartridges you have the permission on the licence so if you have permission to carry licence in Chandigarh you can get the ammunition from Chandigarh. Secondly, if you quota is increased to 200 or 300 or 400 than best is to get 50 cartridges from each dealer. Please also remember year closing is 31 December so if you purchase cartridges before 31 December than you can again buy cartridges after 01 Jan.

I am planning to go to Australia by 20 Nov 2012. I am planning to get 50 ammo of .32 Magnum revolver. Please can anybody confirm that Australia will issue the ammo as I am not sure about Australian laws that they will issue the ammo to me directly because dealers are not interested to send ammo to the airport.

There is no such law rather the result of a perverted reading of the instructions issues by the Ministry of Home Affairs on,amongst other things,ammo quotas.

The reason why I recommended for Chandigarh is because my licence got 15000 cartridges per weapon and I got four weapons which means I can purchase up to 60000 cartridges in one go. I purchased 2000 cartridges from one of the arms dealer in Chandigarh thats why I am pretty sure about the law. In case he cannot have permission to carry licence in Chandigarh then best way is to get 50 cartridges from each dealer in his state.

I am curious as to if each of these weapons are of different caliber's? I am go out on a limb and assume all of these are of .22! Also, all the above discussion is on competition cartridges. if I am not wrong, these are usually in .22 and 30-06. Now if i want to have a increase in quota of my pistol ammo, ssay which is in .380 or .32 ACP, can we even dream of it?

Well all my arms are different. I have .32 Bore Llama Pistol, one springfield 30-06, one Beretta DT 10-L .12 DBBL and KK 300 Walther .22 sporting rifle. All my weapons have 15000 each. Now when you get the cartridges the licencing authorities do not mention that cartridges increased for one specific weapon. They say for example cartridges increased to 500 one time and 1000 per annum so technically you can have 500 each weapon.

On my last visit, the Aussies wouldn't even give you pellets without an Aussie license airguns need a license). You will need an import permit, this is according to what the gunshop person told me.
Again this was about six years ago.

I am pretty sure about the law. Please call Vishal Gun House on 9915162244 and tell him you got 1000 cartridges on your licence and wants to purchase 1000 cartridges in one go. Call him and you will get your answer.
