Indians For Guns

Hi everyone,

I have a query and would be grateful if the experienced members could answer them.

Our company is planning to venture into private maritime security business due to the ever increasing pirate attacks on ships,we would be providing 3-4 armed guards to a ship depending on the shipping company's requirements.

I have the following queries:

1)Our guards would be Indians so if they have to board a ship in Mauritius/Oman so what permissions/licenses/permits are required so that they can carry their weapons abroad for this security purpose?

2)I know the weapon has to be declared and checked in for domestic travel but what procedure has to be followed for an international travel?

3)We need long range weapons which can carrried aboard a ship by the security personnel,what weapons do you recommend for such purpose and also which is best place to buy them?

4)Can a weapon be bought in a private company's name and used by the employees hired by that company to provide security for a purpose like ours?

I know i have a lot of queries but would be grateful if any member could take out time to answer them.

you'll need to look up the relevant sections of the maritime admiralty law this would be a good place start http://www.admiraltylawguide.com/, carrying weapons would not be a problem in International waters..

#3 For long range i would recommend that you go for something like Longbow T-76... for intermediate range and rapid fire go for M-4 or a G36 and get some pistols as backup weapons for your boys in 9mm.
#4 Not sure about India, but if i think you can not...

There are other problems that can be done only by gov't but 3-4 men securing a ship at sea , I would not take a chance to be aboard.

Would give you an idea of what you need.The firearms would need to be atleast semi automatic.You would not need extreme long range.After all ,you would be shooting at small boats and not ships.You would be better of setting up your agency in a foreign country with liberal gun laws that would allow your personnel to own semi-auto,full-auto firearms.

If you ask me then I would say one m16 or an ar15 in combat tactical (this includes a red dot), a 9mm or 45 semiauto for backup, couple of stun grenades, a Rambo knife, camouflage gear, night vision googles and you are all set to wreck havoc on the enemy!

Now you can get all these very easily in the US , not sure about India
