Indians For Guns

I may wrong here but my understanding is that assuming one is using a country made pistol which is made relitivly easily. People still need to use regular ammo.

The question is with such tight control how do people get it?

gverma "tight control" is only for law abiding citizens.

A lot of illicit ammo comes from legal sources. I cant state any more.

Chief sources of illegal ammo is (in no particular order):
a) smuggled across our (porous) borders, the same as other contraband - illegal firearms, drugs, etc.
b) crooked arms dealers doctor their books and sell some of the ammo in the black market. One was recently caught in Bengal selling a large consignment to the Naxalites.
c) crooked cops sell ammo in the black market. Recall reading about a couple of CRPF men who were caught selling ammo to Naxalites. Ironic that, as the same Naxalites were killing CRPF personnel, probably using the same ammo

All checks & balances/ stupid restrictions are imposed on legitimate license holders who contribute nothing to this trade

You would be surprised by how easy it is to reload ammo. Firearms came to the scene hundreds of years back.You can not undo it and go back to a stage where there were no guns.There would be crime even if there were no guns.

The ammo's are some time comes from china.
Eaither Nepal route.
Or mayanmar [barma] - bengaldesh route..

Nepal - india border is totally open. Anyone can go nepal or come india without any identity prof. Due to the Neheru - Birendra sign [NEHERU - BIRENDRA chukti ] occoured in 1954 .

Sceondly firstly the ammo comes bengladesh from mayanmar by the bangla - barma border of chitagong division of bd. & then it enters into west bengal specialy Mursidabad , malda & sundarbans..

Due to the same culture & language it is impossible to predict who is bangladesi & who Westbengalian.

due to the unfanced border & the help of some bsf jawans anyone can go & came across the border. .

The munger made guns [ 9mm pistol , revolber , desi katta ] have highly demand in bengladesh & the ammo's come form bengladesh.




the bengal police everyday siezed illegal firearms..

The cost of ammo is INR. (approx)
3not3 :- 100 - 150
9mm :- 300 - 350

& the cost of firearms is (approx)
desi katta :-
one shooter :700 - 1200
pipegun : 1000 - 1500
six chamber revolber : 6,000 - 10,000
9mm pistol : 20,000 - 30,000

After a weak ago a 10 th class student want to kill the principal of the school in mursidabad near bd border with this gun.

@rraju2805: Very interesting information there Raju. I guess that pretty much explains how the goons are able to procure firearms with such ease, while we law-abiding citizens have to go through a lot of pain.

In no particular order

1.Crooked arms dealers.

2.Crooked cops.

3.Cross border smuggling.

Private arms licensees selling ammunition to criminals is a rarity.It does happen though.There is one such fellow on the geeky forum

I think this place is for discussion about Shooting Sports, Firearms related topics, mostly for the purpose of sharing knowledge and experiences.

Why would Us bother answering a typically Illegal and Crime involved question on this open forum ?

Don't you think Government or Police Department doesn't know the source of Illegal trade involving serious security threat to common people as well as to the nation.

Discussing such topics could draw un-wanted attention of Anti-Gun Brigade as well as concerning authorities.......

I may be wrong, but why to discuss such topics here ?

Mr. Pritam patel , discussing this openly gives more impetus to legal guns. I have seen in many instances that 99.99.% of crimes are committed using illegal weapons and are mostly difficult to trace and solve. Issue of licenced weapons is a sort of fiefdom of so called learned DM and ADM s who decide mostly on their whims and fancies and some for money . This post throws light on the reality , these so called learned idiots ( DM , ADM) can se the ground reality.

You guys forgot the Army's Unit Armouries. There have been a couple of cases where INSAS rifles went missing.
