I saw many of shotgun( SBBL and DBBL)there are Proof Mark on it (like 12 gage, NP, Emblem Stemped, and pressure in Tons and choke level under the chamber of DBBl) .They also mentioned the Chamber length 2-3/4 inch on the barrel . Here I am talking about all Indian made shotguns( Like Hesbee and others)I saw last year many of Hesbee and Prem Sagar & Sons( and others manafacture) guns with proof Marking ( avobe mentioned proof marking). IN my relation we have many such type of proof marking guns

Manafacture cannot sale their guns without IOF proofing. But many of guns( India made guns)I found there is nothing mentioned on the barrel and under the chamber , No Proof Mark are mentioned (like 12 gage, NP, Emblem Stemped, pressure in Tons and Chamber length ). Nothing are mentione on the barrel and under the chamber What it means, are they not iof proof guns or other. Some guns are with proof mark and others are not why. if we purchased such type of gun than what we did

Is Proof Marks are not necessary to mentioned
I have purchased such type of without proof marking gun( No proof mark on it (like 12 gage, NP, Emblem Stemped, pressure in Tons ,Choke level and Chamber length ). It might be possible that all Indian made guns are not NP( Nitro Proof)but the other marks are not mendtory /necessary to mentioned . Only Serial No and manafacture are mentioneed . Is my gun are IOF proof or not
. what I can do now. On bill dealer mentioned that it is a IOf proof gun with their own hand.
I talk on this matter with dealer he says that proof mark are mentioned on each gun. I asked him that it is not mentioned on my gun why than he says I don't know.

I have already post this topic on shotgun. but some of my friends suggest me to post it on Legal Egle for advice

Please read Rules 22 and 25 of Arms Rules 1962. Rule 22 says the following:
22. Proof testing of firearms

(1) Proof testing of firearms manufactured by a licensed dealer shall be carried out only in accordance with the regulations which may be framed by the Central Government or framed by such authorities as the Central Government may specify in this behalf and approved by that Government.

(2) No dealer shall sell a firearm which has not been duly proof-tested.
Since dealer has mentioned on the bill that gun is proof tested, you can ask him to provide you a copy of the document that shows proof test is done. If he fails to provide details then you can think of next step.

Also in the meantime you can do an RTI with Ministry of Home Affairs, New Delhi to provide you with copy of all the regulations that are in force under Rule 22 of Arms Rule 1962:

1. regulations in force that are framed by MHA for the purpose of Rule 22 of Arms Rules 1962
2. details of authorities that have been specified by MHA in its behalf for the purpose of Rule 22 of Arms Rules 1962 and regulations framed by them.

knowing buying unproofed arms makes you a party to the fact. unless you see it and approach the cops and with the intent to prove your point.
