Req for Info | Some quesions on the license form

1. I do not understand why they are asking this when the licensing authority itself can verify the original documents as well as photocopies. You may get the documents attested by any gazetted officer.

2. Why would any employer get into all this needless things? There is no such requirement under Arms Act 1959 and Arms Rules 1962.

3. There is no such requirement under Arms Act 1959 and Arms Rules 1962. Arms licenses are issued as per Section 13 of Arms Act 1959, provided the applicant is not disqualified under Section 14 of Arms Act 1959.

It appears you have understood what they are asking and clearly mentioned the same in your post. I have given the legal position that all these are not legal requirements. These conditions appear to have been put to harass and intimidate the applicant to the extent that either he gives up or falls at their feet to get the license.

Why don't you do an RTI to get an answer from them itself? Ask them, is the person holding the office of licensing authority a gazetted officer? If yes then why it is wanted from applicant to get the documents attested from somewhere else? Ask them to provide you with the relevant Sections of Arms Act 1959 or Arms Rules 1962 that requires an NOC from employer and a firearm handling certificate. Also provide you with the name and address of the organization that is recognized by the licensing authority that gives such certificates.

kindly go through Indian arm act and arms rule you''ll get some picture.
the application form just asks your date of birth,no need to prove your date of birth.if he does,then he is a nother bappu who wants you to deter you from getting a licence.these .....'s will never change.he need's to be penalized for harssing you.

I agree with you sir.They only show the importance of thier chair which provided by govt.
