RULES OF ENGAGEMENT FOR CIVILIANS??

Post by Operator » Thu Mar 22, 2012 10:51 pm

Can anyone tell me if there is any rule on how a civilian should or can use his personal licensed weapon if needed for self defence??

Or
Is it a crime to use your weapon on someone for self defence??

Thank you ,

As per Indian law you can use your firearm to protect not only your own life, liberty & property BUT ALSO to protect the life, liberty & property of others (not necessarily people known/ related to you).

Post the event there will be some hassles, due to the legal process - but no Indian court will convict you of any offence for doing the above. As they say, best be tried by 12 (in court) than carried by 4 (to your grave)!

I don't think there is a specific rule like that. Imagine a gunman trying to attack you and you shoot him below waist in self defense, he is still going to shoot you dead because he is alive with a gun still in his hands. :)

Rules of engagement:
Down on your right knee.
Friend hands you ring.
