GUN LICENSE

Post by alpto » Mon Jan 30, 2012 12:43 pm

Guys, im new to this forum

been a fan for awhile, shooting since i was 10, with my dad's Diana :)

my dad had passed away in 2006 and i'd been trying to get a license for his 3 guns ever since (astra revolver / webbley DBBL / Lee rifle),
had applied in karnataka, coz thts wer i originally hail form and have settled down in m'bai jus lately

got a license FINALLY last week for k'taka and only fr the revolver.

was wondering if i should
- apply fr the other two there only, or
- apply for a new license in mumbai for these 2 and then transfer the revolver here or
- ask for a transfer for the revolver then apply for the remaining 2 in mumbai

alpto,

you have got yourself great achievement by getting handgun licence first place.

you should try to get additional weapon endorsed on that same license and than consider transfer your lic. to mumbai.
( this gets you positive chance on keeping your dad's weapon )
also once you get your lic. transferred to Mumbai I see very marginal chance of getting additional weapon endorsement on that, unless you have great connection in licensing authority

hope this helps

Hi,

Congrats on the great job done...

Need your help.. I am trying to get my fathers revolver transfered and even though he has agreed to surrender his license in my favor the police is not agreeing to allow transfer stating no danger to my life.

Please help with details on how you applied and convinced them to agree to your case

Regards

Kaushal

I am sure, that you won't have same difficulty for getting gun n rifle endorcement on the same lic, from same office.....

I did same with my all india valid lic. for hand gun, than got npb rifle n gun on that same lic( had to spend handsome amount as refreshment for babus still its cheaper than Gujarat standards). from M.P., later on I m planning to get my lic. transfered to Gujarat...just waitting for decent officer in charge to get his position.....

hope this helps
