Hello brothers hear i am placing my opinion is that the iof is not able to delivered the requirement in time and there quality also is not proper as compare to the international brands if goveremnt make a private manufacturers like TATA , BIRLA , GODREJ , MAHINDRA then we will get both quality verity and requirement of both government & the public will be full fill and we don’t need to imports
Please don’t abuse me regarding this I just want to know the opinion if this happened then we don’t need to buy a vintage guns for sports or self protection.

Re: private gun manufacturers
The quick answer is that there are no private arms manufacturers for anything other than shotguns.
The Govt. doesn't allow any private manufacturers to make firearms.
Just remember that the next time some politician tell you that you live in a Democracy or that you are in a free market economy.

Re: private gun manufacturers
henry-co,
The Home Ministry is the one that rejects any manufacture of small arms by a private manufacturer. They cite possible pilferage of arms to anti social elements as reason for rejection. They refused permission to L&T to manufacture rifles for the Indian Army on this ground. This after they (L&T) had spent resources on adapting Steyr rifles for Indian conditions. The MOD,obviously, will never take up the issue with the MOH to allow the manufacture of arms by private players as this will erode the monopoly of the IOFB.

Yeah right, isn't this already happening? Arms are already being manufactured by illegal units and being sold to anti social elements at throw away prices and the irony is that some these chaps make better arms than IOF..winnie_the_pooh wrote:henry-co,

In my humble opinion the guys at MOH really need to get their heads out of their a**ses.....
