Dear Friends

I am a retired CBEC employee whom a gun was allotted , now after retirement dept is asking to deposit it back. I am requesting them to take the cost of the same from me and sale it to me as per policy but they are threatening that they will lodge FIR for recovery of that weapon. I had enclosed the copy of letter by the secretary of association (page no 6 of the attached file)

how can i proceed further ???

What are the terms and conditions that were agreed by you when you were allotted the firearm are important. I do not think CBEC can be compelled to sell the firearm to you unless you are willing to fight the matter in court and get a favorable judgement. Are you being discriminated with regard to the official policy in this matter? FIRs are lodged for cognizable offenses. What cognizable offense you have committed in the eyes of law? Are you possessing the firearm without a valid firearm license?

Is the caliber service pattern that is 9mm??What gun did the give you can you please tell me the name.

If anywhere you can find a clause that states that after retirement you can pay the cost of the weapon and redeem it,then you have nothing to worry about.

My 2 cents:Get a good lawyer.

sir,
i found that Mr Ravi malik has emphasized on retaining the weapon on retirement.i don't know if it is a govt order.
if so or not you have to fight it out in court, using the above.meanwhile you can also apply for a civilian licence,i think it will be helpful.
