New Delhi: A trial court has urged the government to create a national database of firearm licences granted by the various states to check interstate crime.
The court said the step will not only help in curbing crime, but will also prove to be beneficial for the states sharing borders. “In case of Delhi, exchange of this data with the neighbouring statesof Haryana, Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh, which have porous and permeable borders with the capital, can go a long way in checking inter-state crime in particular,” additional sessions judge Kamini Lau said.
The court expressed its displeasure over the fact that despite specific conditions being laid down for those having firearm licences—likedisclosure of the possession of firearm to the nearest police station within 48 hours in the state other than the issuing state — such norms are often violated.

NATGRID will have arms data so that the police can round you up or take your guns away when elections or games event takes place.Total violation of privacy.95% of gun crime is done by illegal and unlicensed guns.Honest poeople would be even more discouraged by purchasing a firearm.

What about the OTHER guns :?:

A data base of licensed firearms will prevent or discourage crime

How about preparing a database of the shootouts and crimes committed by licensed firearms holders vs the unlicensed gun bearers :?:

“In case of Delhi, exchange of this data with the neighbouring states of Haryana, Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh, which have porous and permeable borders with the capital, can go a long way in checking inter-state crime in particular,”
Could someone please explain it to me about the porous borders concept? I asking in seriousness. Are people from neighbouring states supposed to have visas/special permissions to enter the nation's capital? Thanks for your reply.

I'll attribute it to a heady, dangerous cocktail of communism, socialism, democracy, etc. etc. that our country has become.

Most of us are led to believe that we are a free democracy. But what it is in reality is anybody's guess.

The assumptions of the court are biased and mischievous. Its presumes without any fragment of evidence that all gun owners are criminals and or potential criminals. We as honest law abiding RKBA activists, should file a counter suit and question the validity of presumptions of the court. Also this "national data base" argument is in itself mischievous and bound to be miused. Also it directly infringes on an individuals right to privacy.
