Hi All,

This is my first post here. Though i should have first introduced myself in the introductions section so my apologies for that. I will do that in due course of time. This website came as a surprise ( a pleasant one) for me. I hope to learn a lot of things here.

Comign to my question, Is there a choice of weapon ( .32 pistol) after the procurement of arms license. As per my understanding, .32 IOF pistol seems to be the only choice for a civilian carrying a valid arms license. Also after the grant of the license, what is the turn around time for procurement of weapon and which is the best place to buy?. Please suggest. Thanks.

welcome peer,

Monopoly does funny things to people and organizations.

The IOFB has several 'outlets' in its many factories and establishments around the country. Each is competing with the other in how inefficient or incompetent it can be. You may choose to go to the one nearest to where you are.

After you book your weapon, the lousy government wallahs will wait list you for as long as 18 months while their 'craftsmen' (hardly machinists) cobble together culminated orders on schedule.

This page should detail the entire drama... http://ofbindia.gov.in/index.php?wh=Spo ... ms&lang=en
