Hi,
My dad who residing in Calicut Inda has a All India License and owns a SBBL shotgun. He would like to sell the shotgun and buy a NPB rifle. Is it a simple procedure or does he have to reapply and get a new license?
Also is there anybody who can help in exporting a firearm.

all you have to do is write a letter to the licencing authority to change the shotgun licence to npbrifle, stating your reasons like target practice, sports purpose something to convince the authority, with a copy of the licence.

Some states have different licencing authorities for various types of weapons. In TN for example shotgun licences and in some districts for rifles the ADM is the licencing authority, while for pistols and revolvers it is the DM. What I want to say is if the licencing authority is the same for all weapons it would be easier for you to transfer the licence from a shotgun to rifle.
