There is no large capacity magazine restriction law in effect in India. So it should be ok as long as its done by a licensed gunsmith.

Our bureaucrats were very cunning, they created annual ammunition quotas, rather than quotas for magazine capacity. Why stop at only 7 shots, you can create magazines of 10, 20, 30 or whatever workable capacity you can fabricate.

Jokes apart, why only a 7 shot magazine ? I guess a 10 shot mag will be a better idea . How much will you sell it for once it is fabricated ?

I would stick to a 5 round magazine.It is a single stack magazine and a higher capacity one would be a b***h to load and to make it feed properly.Try this link to get an idea of what the Sauer 5 shot magazine looks like.

Hasan, you will be better off fabricating an entire 'bottom metal asembly', especially where the 'lock up ' is concerned. I have seen quite a few drop box magazines , fitted as after marked accessories, especially for the Remington 700 series.They do include a enhanced /strengthened trigger guard and mag well.
A non concealed mag catch at the rear, like one for the service rifles or the M14 ,would help in holding the enhanced weight mag. I dont know what the bottom metal configuration for the 10f 30-06 is...just my 2 paise

Its eventually a matter of preference, and you cant argue with personal choice. Like my old man says regarding the IOF .30's magazine capacity " If ya cant hit something with three shots, how are five gonna help?"
