Hello Sir,
I hav placed an enquiry with the FedEx and other agents at the Custom Houses... lets see what comes out...
Besides, it is not only the imports, it is a good news for the sports... and also the local manufacturers... maybe some day they will come out with export quality weapons... so that we won't have to take the pain of importing...

Dear Nagarile,
It's Hon. Supreme Court's stay on High Court's judgement that puts Air rifles/pistols under Arms Act. The detained guns will be released, and there are no restrictions on the new imports.

Not possible to import if you aren't a club member.

beg to disagree, as far as i know when court gives a stay order it means no further action to be taken by any one until a final judgement is given.
stay order does not say that the hi court order is non and void. etc etc
i am very happy to be proven wrong for once

Dear Nagarifle,
I love your enthusiasm, Also, your textbook definition of Stay Order is absolutely correct. You get 10/10!
In this particular matter, it's a Sup Court's stay on High Court's JUDGEMENT. Which means, let the things remain as they were- they way they were before High Court's judgement.
There's no stay on some party's appeal- it's a stay on judgement.
Clear enough?
Regards,
Arrun

Well, lets take it this way...a practical case. In Chennai a long time back, a judge ordered the corporation to clear a certain street encroached with vendors based on a petition or case... don't really remember. About 30 mins in to the operation, the traders got a stay order and the cops had to stop. My understanding as a layman is that the previous order was over ruled and things were back to square one.
Could be wrong, just my bit....
Remember this case as almost eveyone in Chennai shop here

well well lets see who can anwers this one. who can say for posatively that its yes you can without being detained?
not me.
one can always import at own risk. as all ways the risk is there,
so i am not telling you that you can import airguns. what i am telling you is that there is all ways a risk.
as they say if you can not afford to loose it do not import.
