eh if you cant beat them then join them. 10k per person sounds about right. so lets get more into this. may i suggest a closed circuit for private comms as open forum may not be best as this will let the who ever know what is going on, hit them with sticks hit them with stones, hit them with court odars. But never hit them with what one is going to do.

Yup, All that sounds great. Can NAGRI be of use here? I'd assume they have a larger collection of people who would be willing to work for this...

I'm in.

As Kandarp said keen to know NAGRIs role in this. I do know they have spent money and taken a lot of initiative around this including building political support.

Nagarifle I completely agree with you on the secrecy aspect. It was the first thing that came to my mind but right now there is no other way to spread the word. So let us not discuss specifics on the forum till moderators join in and we come up with options and safeguards.
Second, 10k a year is MY limit and I quoted the figure after giving it some thought (including dear wifey's face :D ). Let people contribute whatever they are comfortable with. That way this movement will not burden anyone at any point of time. We have to enjoy doing what we intend to do. Please mark my words friends. Factors like these decide the fate of movements in the long run. But I am sure there are some members who can contribute a little more than me.

There is another point I forgot to mention. Ideally speaking the annual meeting in Delhi should not be organized using money from the corpus. We should bear the cost of travel and our stay in the capital. But again I am sure some of the members can arrange moderately priced guest houses/ hotels etc.

As you said Naga... lets hit them and hit them hard

Cheers
Tc

Thank you Kandarp. After watching your efforts I was hoping you would be the first to say this.

Kandarp, SS and Nagarifle,

When I was writing my post this morning I knew NAGRI would figure in the discussions and for all the right reasons. Since I floated the idea with a strong conviction I suggest we leave the matter open before the forum members and moderators. All I know is that registration with NAGRI is in suspension temporarily because of some reasons that Abhijeet and others can explain in detail.
I have one issue though. One of you mentioned that NAGRI has worked hard to gather political support. We have to be very careful about politicians because at the end of the day they will only follow what their parties want and what their personal ambitions demand. There are no EXCEPTIONS. As a journalist I have spent two decades in the proximity of politicians, Left, Right and Centre. Let me assure you only a tiny fraction think beyond politics and it is heavily outnumbered. Let us not forget that every movement in support of RKBA primarily targets politicians and their policies that the babus and the police implement.

I wont write on this subject anymore unless circumstances demand. Now let us take this forward.

Regards

TC

Being a resident of Delhi, having experience (whatever little) with the licensing department and having successfully appealed through the application rejection, I am happy to extend the support needed.

I do agree with TC on his observation on political support- it's a tricky call and could swing either way though we cannot rule it out all together. Worth a debate maybe at a later stage.

So what specific sections of the Arms Act are being challenged in court. Commendable inititive gentlemen. How about the revision of the Sections Related to Edged Weapons too, the stupid 9" long and 2" wide clause. What can you do with a 9 inch blade that you can't do with a 6 or 7 inch blade.I can pitch in too with the moolah to support if this is really being taken seriously by all IFG'ians.
