Hi simranhunjan,
It depends on what type of Gun you plan to import and in what calibre.
Information contained in this link will be useful to you.

Mr. Simranhunjan has posted hi query on HANDGUNS section, so what I believe is, he wants to import a Pistol or a Revolver...SRI 420";p="62766 wrote:Hi simranhunjan,

So in this case the reply from TenX is sufficient..
Either he will have to wait for the import rules to be relaxed (which is unlikely in near future ) or to become a 'Renowned Shot' as per the advice of Mr. TenX.
All the best for both situations....
Regards...

.. There is yet another option.. which is to open a state Shooting Range, with the affiliation of NRAI, and get in steed for direct imports

Simranhunjan,
Please do not dirty this forum with such questions. The members of this forum are legal gun owners and this forum does not support any illegal activites.
I hope you get the message.
If you wish to import legally, Please use the search feature on the left, you will find alot of information as this topic has been discussed many a time.

Firstly, its a crime to get one illegally, and can very well come under TADA and such acts, which none of the members here are nowhere near! Having said that, a large group of members here are stretching themselves to have RKBA enforced, so that legal self-defense becomes a reality for all Indians. Apart from that, there are a lot of shooters here who are in the competition cadre, who's eventual ambition leads to glory for the state and nation.
Now, this being the case, no one is in any position to help you out with even the minimal details of your stated question, which is totally against what all the good information exchange this forum holds. If I were you, in the right spirit, I would probably edit your message and delete it completely

Simran,
Consider yourself lucky that the moderators didn't spot your question; let it be your first and last mistake as an IFG-an. We all support the rights to keep and bear arms, but we intend to do so by staying within the parameters the Indian Legal System has set.

Re: Importing Arms & Ammo into India
I agree with views of all forum members but my question is what we can do to remove this import restrictions? What result oriented steps are we willing to take?
