Hi please guide yesterday my father retd Indian Army officer received letter regarding allotment of NSP weapon but he is not having arms license so is it possible to get arms license now at age of 62years we are currently residing in Uttar Pradesh

If your father has already been allotted the weapon, ask him to get in touch with the CO of the unit, he was attached with. As far as I know, for serving personnel, NSP license application is routed on the CO's directions to the civilian licensing authority.

I completed my additional Arms Licence application and renewal online some months back. Honestly its extremely irritating to upload various documents in different formats( jpg/pdf/doc) considering the limitation the size.
I seriously think this online process is a sham to make the public believe about the transparency in granting Arms licence but in reality many elderly Arms Licence holders who are not so technology aware will never be able to submit the necessary requirements online and end up paying a bribe to the Dept to do the same. At the end of successfully submitting the tedious online process we still have to take a print out of the entire process and have to submit the Application form along with the supporting documents to the Arms Dept. So what is the point of the Online process? Just a gimmick?
Till 2017 the renewal process for any Arms licence in Kolkata was a single day. Now its over a month or more paying Rs.1000 for Police Clearance Certificate online and Rs. 1500 per weapon . Seriously disgusting to say the least.
Completed my online application today it asked for all details plus my pic & sign. Also downloaded filled PDF file. Got ref no too...Let's see what happens next.

All this is ok . But i think there will be some time required to make the system more easy and fast .
This should take more than 2 years to function properly.
As of now doing everything physically is more good .
