Customs Notice for importing rifle scope.

My scope status is also showing custom hold. I didn't received any notice or email..

Earlier Delhi customs were more lenient and used to clear scopes easily.
I hope you still have some luck left.

Hi everyone, I recently bought a Vortex Diamondback 4-12x 40 mm BDC Riflescope from Amazon.com for my IOF .30-06 Rifle. It took almost one month to get it delivered. Luckily I didn't had to face Customs, atleast directly because the courier service handled it for me. Amazon shipped it through UPS Courier and then they collected my KYC details via email and got it cleared. And then shipped it to me through local courier service.

I bought two more riflescopes from Amazon earlier. For them I had to face no issues at all. They were delivered to my doorstep without any documentation required.

By the way Vortex is a great product. Awesome clarity.

Did you receive your scope or they take any penalties?
I also received a notice from customs through a ordinary postal mail. It is from postal customs. Last year. My lawyer advised me to avoid it. 1 year later I get an postal mail from his senior officer.
As they says un my mail. 1st its illegal to import without a valid import license.
2nd arms are illegal to import via post.
On that moment I understand rifle scopes are not able to use in india hsn code 90131010. Is a restricted category as tanks, armed vehicles.
When I understand I leave about scope and try to avoid legal actions.

And the ask me to visit for a conversation or send a mail.
If someone have experienced in this case kindly help me.
