That's .38 rimmed ammo - the .380 is a rimless round...dev";p="25807 wrote: Minor correction here - the .380 is the 9mm "Short" a.k.a 9mm Kurz,
I was talking about the police revolver ammo. Isn't that a 380 rimmed or something?

i'm a bit confused with what happened. so sorry if the next question seems daft.if you say the air pistol was concealed in your bag, then how did the police get to know of it? unless they were checking it?
i must add, with the high tension situation these days, carrying a replica gun, or at least something that, from your images, seems a spitting image of a real pistol can invite trouble, in any country, not only india.
how about carrying it in it's cardboard box with manual and slugs and all.

Well, as per the law there is INDEED a provision for acquiring a license for an air-rifle. If one sees Schedule 4 point no.8 then it clearly states that one should use Form No. VI while applying for a license for arms of the following de.scription -
(a) Pistol or Revolver
(b) Rifle other than those mentioned in (c)
(c) 22 bore rifle (low velocity) firing rimmed cartridges, BL gun and air rifle
(d) ML gun or air-gun
The Licence fee for initial year of grant (in Rs) for point (c) is stated as Rs. 40/- and the Renewal fee for each subsequent year (in Rs) is stated as Rs. 20/- AND for point (d) they are given as Rs. 10/- and Rs. 5/- respectively.
HOWEVER, in practice I have not heard of any case where someone has either applied for a license for an air-rifle OR wherein someone has been asked to procure a license for the same.
Cheers!
