Naga,
Excellent detective work! ....Above and beyond the call of duty, bro.

Thanks for taking the time to help out Indians4guns. Now if he can just convince the the parasites in the consulate to actually do their jobs....

I just got in email from the vice counsel at Indian consulate. This is what he says,

"Dear Sir,
There are recent circulars on issuance/non issuance of arm license to the citizens of Indian origin (OCIs). As per MHA site under para 11 of ARMS AND AMMUNITION POLICY FOR INDIVIDUALS, it has been decided not to grant arms licenses to Overseas Citizens of India please. You can visit MHA site that is http://mha.nic.in/pdfs/AaAPolicyInd-080410.pdf and select for circulars for public and further select ARMS AND AMMUNITION POLICY FOR INDIVIDUALS. We are sending your documents back please. Bona-fide passages/travelers are those who are not from Indian origin please."

Again it is an email, he is completely ignoring the fact that, I am asking this in written as well.

Do I have any options now?

Thank you.

he is wrong the policy was made illigel by the parilment standing commite just few months back see the thread :http://indiansforguns.com/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=14354
and the link:

http://164.100.47.5/newcommittee/report ... rs/151.pdf read it and pass it on the the worm in the hi places. even so they have to process your application with statement to such and as per the arms act section 13? they have to give the reason in writing.

oh other thing the policy does talk about granting arms licence to OCI. (limited as it may be)

oh other thing the worm is mistaken the offical defintion is non resident and not of OCI ie indian orange. :D

since they have not rejected your application and all they seem to have done is returned it to you without processing it and. you can ask in writing for the reason for rejection as per the arms act, give them the reasons as per the arms act they are 4 only. force them to accept the application form and reject it officealy via a letter and not email. even a fax will do as it will have the official heading etc

Yes the arms and ammunition policy is illegal and unconstitutional. Can a policy override the notification cited by nagarifle? I do not think so. How can a policy be in contravention to Arms Act 1959/ Arms Rules 1962/ Notifications issued for implementing Arms Act 1959?
