Not Depositing NSC for a Pistol License in UP

Post by abs_143 » Mon May 17, 2010 4:28 pm

I have applied for an arms license in UP. My file file has been put up by the concerned DM. Now the asla babu is asking me to show him an NSC worth Rs. 50,000.

Can any one tell me what are the rules regarding to the Nsc while obtaining a arms license. And how can it be bypassed.

Hi

You can bypass this by

1. showing your prior purchase of NSC or deposit in PPF or KVPs in the same financial year.

2. by addressing a letter to DM requesting him to reduce the amount.

3. DM will reduce the amount based on
A. Amount of Point A is Rs. 50 K
B. Amount of A is less than 50 K than he will advise you to deposit the balance to make a total of 50 K.
C. he may totally exempt if you have a letter of support from BMW Ji ( Bhen Mayawati ji) or some MP etc. etc.
D. He has also the powers to reduce this to 10,000 or whatever amount as per his whims and fancies.
depending on your letter, personality and convincing powers. My request is that you meet the DM personally.

I got the amount reduced to 10 K five years back.

All the best

Paddy

Never heard of this before in our place. Is the NSC a sort of security deposit or an income proof

Such deposits are illegal, but as we all know these days in India, it is usually a question of might is right. Discussion on same topic is also at : http://indiansforguns.com/viewtopic.php ... 34&start=0

Hi,

Apart from NSC, they also ask for amount towards red cross etc. The district admin has a target and they look for ways to full fill that. Not just arms license, while registering propoerty, they ask for NSC of certain amount. It easy for them.. instead for runing after public to invest in NSC, they catch hold the easiest. Here in India, litigation cost time & money and most donnt want to get into litigation. In some place they even ask NSC when one goes for renewal of arm license. Though illeagal but then when one is buying a gun costing in thousands how does few rupees matter specially after some year the amount is going to come back.

I faced what ABS is facing.
Yes in some case if you have approach they do away with NSC.
