I have an ancestral 1923 Webley & Scot .12 bore SBBL, which has been classified as a curio. I am 75, with the younger child, son, in Europe for 25 years and a daughter, married and settled in a place away from Delhi NCR, where I have settled. Considering my age, I thought of transferring this gun to our daughter, who shall own it and care for it as a family heirloom until the son decides to return and stake his claim.
The gun dealers and the arms department say that there are no orders regarding this situation because a small arm, which is classified as a curio does not need a arms licence and hence the arms department has no clue to deal with the situation.
Fed up with the stalemate, I have referred the matter to the MHA but there has been no response from them as well. I need to act fast because in my case, time is critical due to my age and age related ailments that I have.
What else should I do?
Thanks.
