Help needed regarding to the Application for an Arms Licence

Hello members ,

I am in the process of getting a IOF .22LR revolver for self protection . I have some help to ask of you guys regarding to the filling up of the Application of the Arms Licence . Hope you all can help me out .

In the Part C , section 12 of the Application for Arms Licence , it states that " The form in which licence is required " - what do I fill in here ?

Again in Part C , section 13 of the Application for Arms Licience , it states that ," Description of arms / ammunition "-
Do I write .22 LR revolver or NPB handgun ? In case of ammunition , do I mention the amount of ammunition I wish to possess ? If so , what amount should I fill in ?

I have read somewhere that , Application for Arms Licence needs to be submitted in duplicate . Is this true ?

Also is there any more tips that you would like to give me regarding the filling of the application . If so , please do mention .

Do I write .22 LR revolver or NPB handgun ? In case of ammunition , do I mention the amount of ammunition I wish to possess ? If so , what amount should I fill in ?

You can write .22 LR revolver or NPB handgun or NPB pistol/revolver. If you write .22 LR revolver then you will be able to buy only .22 LR revolver and will be closing your option of buying any NPB revolver/pistol. For ammunition just write corresponding whatever is applicable "ammunition for .22 LR revolver" or "ammunition for NPB handgun" or "ammunition for NPB pistol/revolver".

I have read somewhere that , Application for Arms Licence needs to be submitted in duplicate . Is this true ?

Please read Rule 51 of Arms Rules 1962. I do not think it is necessary to submit application in duplicate but there is no harm in making duplicate/triplicate photocopies of the arms license application. You can get the copy stamped and signed for your records. It will serve as proof of submission of arms license application.

Also is there any more tips that you would like to give me regarding the filling of the application . If so , please do mention .
