No...considering you can pick up an IOF .22 rifle for less and about the same if you have it done up.

Request your advice please.

Could there be a legal problem if I get a RWS 350 Magnum as personal baggage throu a colleague who is an ex patriate. These guys travel home to Germany twice a year. The price translates to about Rs. 20,000/-

Went to buy pellets at Oriental Fire Arms and Ammunition, Cannought Place, New Delhi some time back.

The guy showed me two Diana air rifles (looked like RWS 350 Magnum) and asked for Rs. 55,000/- and Rs. 60,000/- respectively.

Will it be worth a buy?

Thanks// Atanu

Even if somebody gets one, where will he gets pellets?
So many times, it happens too fast
You trade your passion for glory
Don't lose your grip on the dreams of the past
You must fight just to keep them alive

It's the eye of the tiger
It's the thrill of the fight
Risin' up to the challenge
Of our rival
And the last known survivor
Stalks his prey in the night
And he's watching us all with the
Eye of the tiger

Pellets for a 9mm? Doubt if anyone would be able to use the regular diablo style pellets in such a beast, at least not with any degree of accuracy. Such an air-rifle would need to be fed solid slugs. One can always cast one's own at home using a lead alloy and an appropriate mould.

Of course all this is pre-supposing that one is able to convince the authorities to issue you a license for a 9mm air-rifle! That is unless it passes the deal wood test, which I'm guessing would require it to shoot 110 grain slugs (assuming the weight here - for comparison 9x19mm is loaded with 115 grain bullets) at about 200 fps or less (for about 10 ft lbs of ME). At those sort of figures, you may be better off buying a good catapult :P

Cheers!
