You may read this http://indiansforguns.com/viewtopic.php ... 70#p153746

This seems to be the tactics(to selectively leak information) before doing a ban so that maximum people mentally surrender and refrain from buying so that once the ban is placed, hardly any one is left to protest or approach court in protest.

Hi Guys,7.62 { 30 China} Pistols, were supposed to be issued to serving officers of the defense forces, these weapons were seized during encounters and were sent to COD Jabalpur, from where a fresh serial number was printed on them, the original ones had Sr.no like G-------------,on them, from there they were issued to serving and retiring officers, from there it turned into a money making racket, vouchers were forged and the rest i am sure most know off. There pistols were alloted to the officers for a cpl of hundred of rupees and were sold in the market for-------------,in short a very profitable business for some.
Now the present senario what i know off is that sale permission for 30 China/ TT/etc, etc the various make is been banned, there was an ad from the Home Deptt Punjab asking for allotment of various firearms from Phillaur [Punjab Police Center] on the condition that they are not sold, and be deposited back on the demise of the allotee, the allotment price for 30 Pistol was Rs 35,000/-or so :D ,
So like the rest of the Arms Act,this also has its shades of Grey, as very few things in the Act are in Black and White :deadhorse:

i think very few tokarev pistols have been recovered from terrorists in j&k & NE,its mainly 7.62mm Chinese star pistol's or copies made by pak ord factories...and its true that because of few black sheep's the org is getting a bad name but most of the officer's i know have retained their weapon's and have not sold/disposed off to weapon dealers...its quite difficult to ban this cal of 7.62 mm since they are present in large numbers with serving/retired army, police,IAS officers....and a large cache is already lying in COD & different OD's in field formations...so gentlemen its difficult to ban this cal... :)

Hi TBE,
The TT are hard to come across But its Chinese sibling (norinco) with similar performance are available.
Quoted prices are not buyers friendly ha ha ha....... And the others of European origin which can digest this damn bottleneck round are even more costly. As a passing remarks, I found our IOF .22 rev is not bad.

TS
