Is Reloading Legal?

Post by vivekpeter » Mon Nov 14, 2011 4:33 pm

Is reloading legal in India? I have heard from my uncle that it is possible to reload cartridges with specific tools in the USA. I do not know if it is legal in India. Can anyone enlighten on the same?

It is legal if you follow the law. You may read Rule 2(24), Rules 9(4)(5)(6), Rule 57 of Explosives Rules 2008. Also any shop(would also include shop of rifle club, association) can obtain licence from District Magistrate on Form LE-5(under article 5(a) of Part 1 of Schedule IV of the Explosives Rules, 2008) to possess and sell from the shop, at any one time, not exceeding 25 kilogrammes of small arms nitro compound. Reloaders can buy from this shop. Related discussion can be read at http://indiansforguns.com/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=15556
