rifle club Membership in other state
Dear all gunnies,
I was looking for a goverment recognised rifle club in rajsthan and failed to find one . so i ended up finding baroda rifle club and had a word with them they say that they just need my police verification and i can get a training and membership in their club.....
i am from udaipur(Rajasthan) and i am taking a membership in baroda(gujrat) and after that if i apply for a .22...will the licensing authorities consider the membership of other state or they will continue making excuses.........throw some light guys......i was ashamed by watching videos on youtube in which kids were firing barrett m82 rifle and i am still struggling for a .22LR.......help me out guys .any suggestions would be highly appreciated ........Hope to get valuable replies....

dont be ashamed of what you see on utube, infact you can see anything with your desire.
Police veryfication for rifle club membership is ASFAIK ,is standard norm in many places.
My 2 cent advice, if your goal is to have a licensed rifle kindly concentrate on that. who says shooting club membership gets you rifle license. If you become a renewd shot, i.e. in nationals you do........... information is available on IFG , you can import your rifle duty free if you have a licence. So even winning any competition dont add up to rifle license.
If you can understand , you are based in Rajasthan and the club you want to take membership is baroda in Gujrat.
So no purpose served, how can you practise there how many times you can visit there.
And after that even if you are champion in.................................. still you will have to apply for your rifle licese and get it . So do that instead of all this.
Regards.

Re: rifle club Membership in other state
Thanks RAJVEER for the revert....actually lot many seniors suggested a membership so that the membership certificate can be attatched along with the application to make the success ratio strong....though i found it next to impossible to find a good shooting platform in this state. Anyways what would u suggest if i directly apply without a membership........the licensing authorities in udaipur thing that they are above manmohan singh......kindly suggest me something as there is no one to help me out here and i also expect some family suport but unable to get it....its hard to convince them that firearms can be used for other purposes rest than killing.

Very sorry to say but , I am not that qualified yet to suggest about how to get an arms license, I think seniors can help.lakecity_shooter wrote:Thanks RAJVEER for the revert....actually lot many seniors suggested a membership so that the membership certificate can be attatched along with the application to make the success ratio strong....though i found it next to impossible to find a good shooting platform in this state. And if I am not wrong , you made two unsuccesful attempts earlier. I would suggest kindly post a detail story of the same in a new thread , I am confident you will get all the help needed.
Last but not the least, family support, sometimes is difficult to get but without it , as per my belief and knowledge, even GOD will find it hard to help.
Regards.

Re: rifle club Membership in other state
applying is one thing getting license is another,
If applying is the sole purpose why limit ourself to only '10'
In mumbai with the court fee stamp it costs arround 6 INR so why not apply for 100,
because visiting the office to submit forms costs atleast 1000 INR of petrol.
So , ASFAS the application goes please dont limit yourself

If you read these threads, there seem to be a couple of rifle shooting clubs in Rajasthan, you may join any of them that is closest to your location http://indiansforguns.com/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=8456 and http://indiansforguns.com/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=8414
