Export Family Heirloom Weapons from India to US
My grandfather lives in India and is a licensed possessor of a Double Barrel rifle and and German 9MM handgun. He wants to transfer these firearms to me. I live in the US. i need to know how I can make this transfer happen on the Indian side. Its fairly easy on the US side to import these weapons. Thanks

what i can guess is some type of documentation from our side to the indian customs to have your baggage go smooth..

Probably wont be able to transfer the handgun to his name as it is a PB unless he himself can get a PB licence which I doubt as he is not even resident in India.. anyway all the best. Monetarily these guns wont have as much value abroad as in the indian context. It would be much cheaper and less troublesome to buy brand new guns, but of course this seems to be an attempt to retain the family hierlooms. Best of luck!
