Hi,
Gun Gurus Is it possible for my mother to bring rifle scope for my 30 savage rifle as my brother (NY USA) have purchased allready one for me. I want to know that can there be trouble at new delhi airport or not.

suggestions please.

So long as the rifle scope is not attached to a firearm :D /air rifle, it may be brought in to India as it will be treated as an optical instrument like a telescope or binoculars. There is no restriction as long as the scope is not presented for inspection by customs(should they choose to inspect it).
Just make sure that it is not one of the rubber coated types because I have heard that these are not exportable without a license from the USA as they may be treated as military goods.

Can one order a rifle scope from an on line store, without mounts or rings accompanying it? What are the implications concerning shipping, duties and any restrictions if any?

Would appreciate it if anyone who has purchased and imported it can share their experiences.
