Dear IFgns
Would like to know the membership cost for both annual and life in a district rifle club.
I had approached the District Rifle Association regarding membership as I was a student member earlier but I was informed that they are not giving annual memberships and only Life memberships are given now and also that I needed a valid Arms license to apply for a membership!
I am interested in Air Pistol and rifle shooting!
I had read in posts earlier that a NRAI life memberships costs 20,000/- is it worth taking a District Rifle club membership for the same cost as a NRAI membership!!!
Also can I transfer my father's Life membership of the Rifle club to my name,
I read in a post that at NRAI "(After demise of a member his kin will get membership by paying half the membership fee)." does this apply for District clubs also?
Would like to know your thought on these points!
Regards
Shiv

Re: Rifle Club membership fees!!!
hello Shiv,
this has been discussed in multiple threads . most often it is about what is advantageous for you,
1) State / district rifle clubs are not governed by a central regulation or set of rules, rights of admission is as per the governing body. so if they say lifetime membership only and license is a must then yeah, no options..
2) State / district associations have ranges where you can go and exercise the right to shoot legally
. NRAI doesn't have ranges but members can use affiliate clubs (regulations about this is hazy, check with your association and then take a call)
specific information about this can be obtained by yourself, since you are a member of the RSC and they hold the air rifle range, check what is their policy about NRAI members, the same can be checked with the Navy Range as well.
Regards
Thomas
