Its a common inexpensive springer air-pistol - I doubt its even rifled. You definitely don't require a license for it.
Welcome to IFG! and do post an Intro in the appropriate section. Have fun in the mean time.
Interesting user name....

Looks like an air pistol and if it says it is one,it should be one.Read what calibre it it, .177 or .22.You can buy pellets from sports shops or gun shops. No license required. But, before you shoot it,please find out, learn and implement safe gun shooting practices.Air pistol does not mean that it's harmless. Many lost eyesight or worse due to negligence.Good shooting.
1.Assume every firearm is loaded.
2.ALWAYS keep the gun pointed in a safe direction.
3. ALWAYS keep your finger off the trigger until ready to shoot.
4. ALWAYS keep the gun unloaded until ready to use.

Also...handle it and use it in a manner that is responsible and moderate...you don't want the anti-gun folks to use you as an example...

Hi Ram .... Ram,
Well, now that your question for the necessity of a licence for the springer in question is answered, a word of caution. Next time you have such a doubt, first seek the answer before you purchase a gun. If indeed you had purchased a weapon that needs a license (which is most unlikely but not impossible) before you actually processed the license, you could have landed in hot soup.

whats the difference between "toy" air pistol and air-pistols in context of Indian Rules? is Manufacturers printed conditions enough for a classification?
just curious..

hey K,
most 0.22 will have smooth bore barrels, which mean you can work out some jugaad to clear stuck pellets as you cant damage anything. like C clamps, a normal hammer and suitable rod (the second one worked for me)..

I have lot of inspiration towards shooting sports since my young age. my grandfather owned marlin model 1894 typo gun and i always dream of guns right from my known age and due to my grandpa's good and bad exp with gun in his age, my parents always hesitate in this... even though i earn am grown they never wanted me to get gun or practice .. but today out of all hesitation i got a He-Man - Mark 4 Air Pistol - 0.22 ( 5.5mm )
from coimbatore sports shop for 1200Rs + added Diana round head pellet.
Was so happy about the gun, the shopkeeper promised me that this is better than mark3 and can cover 15 meters.
here is the picture of my new baby

My next plan to go to buy IHP M35 .22 .. after that i will use the Diana model 50Jahre LTD model -- never know what is the model my parents used to say it is 50years old gun something blah blah .. but i can find that it is 0.22 but not sure if it will work ..
