hello friend,

in india many brands are available like jimmi, IHP etc. before you choose one, you have to confirm your purpose. for example, if you are planning to participate in competitions, you have to choose .177 caliber and for this jimmi will not work (it is .22) . but if your intention is pest control, jimmi will serve the purpose. in fact its good one. although there are indian brands, if you are seriousely interested, the best available indian brand is of Indian Hume Pipes (IHP)national. it is available in both .22 & .177 caliber. cost will be approximately below INR 4000/-.

wish you good luck

suresh

Hi.............
Suresh necessarily has given you a good advice....you can purchase guns through aimco. via post. but they are presently out of stock of ihp ones......i too am in search of one.....
& suresh...you from kollam?
Can you guide me from where to get a 2nd hand foreign air pistol in good condition, mainly for pest control...may be 600 fps and above?
You seem to be well aware of the local trends in air gun sales in kerala.....just thought you will be of some help...
& me coming to trivandrum in a week or two....does any shop there have stock of ihp air pistol .177? I'll be grateful if you could promptly guide me......

please do not hunt pests with an air pistol. it has neither the power nor the accuracy, and will only result in cleverer rats, or wounded ones. i'm sure you don't want either around your place.

If you are considering Indian make ..Just only one answer . IHP . Go for Aimco website as suggested by others.

In my opinion you only have options to choose if you are considering foreign makes.

hii navneeth,

well, even i am having a .22 air pistol of He man, in fact i am more interested in air rifle and hence i am not sure about the availability of 2nd hand foreign air pistols. but i am sure, you cannot do anything with an air pistol in pest control. it is not powerful as you think. also, i dont think an air pistol with 600 fps is available, since even National air rifle's maximum speed is 500 fps. however you can check it over phone at T Jacob's on 0471 2441027 (Trivandrum) or at cochin armoury on 0484 2371598. both are good shops and the people are co operative. but before one month, air rifle was out of stock at Jacobs and they told after one month it will be available. hopefully, it will be avilable now. go ahead.

good shoot
