Would like to be enlightened on how to choose the right scope for my IHP 35. There are many scopes from Rs 2,000/- to Rs 50,000/-, what are the crucial factors?. And is it true that it is not legal in India now.

If you are working within a tight budget try the Tasco/ Deben Hawke Varmint series or the Nikko Sterling Air King series... decent air-gun (springer) rated optics at reasonable prices.

Thanks for the tip, can these scopes be sourced in India?. Can you give me the parameters by which one selects a scope for the relevant gun.
