Hello all IFGians,

our local brand air rifles seems to be and indeed they are fitted with low quality main spring. And as the spring settles, the drop in power or fps is severe, more so on .22" models.
Please help me choose a very good spring preferably the best, its price and where to get it, if possible to get it online.
Thanks.
Mike

p.s. Piston seal/washer too

G Smith main spring and washers increased the power of my local gun dramatically. Now my local made air gun is shooting almost close to IHP. Look at the latest post in this link http://indiansforguns.com/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=7840

Krishna

for seal, This thread has been edited to conform with Indian For Guns policy as stated in the Announcements forum
you have to be sure about the size. and you need an adapter to fit the seal

To my knowledge there is another brand of Indian main spring called "Cherokee" when it comes to power. It is indeed so very powerful that it will loosen most of the screw or nut of the gun.It makes the gun difficult to cock.it will destroy the breech washer if not done up properly.Once it settles after 200 shots,it is a fun to plink. My suggestion is such spring should be installed along with new breech washer and new piston washer/seal to get optimum velocity and pellet should be 13 gr+.Cost 37 coil one is Rs 150/- at Kolkata.Ofcourse proper tuning will enhance both power and accuracy.
