Hi Jitu,
You can search for the posts of HVJ1, in some thread he has provided a very elaborate excercise to identify a good coach. In shooting sports, he has even provided some tips on Pistol Shooting, for more details you might try to send him a PM. Wish you success in your new endeavour.
Ravi.

hi fantumfan thanks for the pyramidair sight. it is quite informative. can anybody clarify if there are any changes to the stance and lift for a person who shoots cross dominant as i have always been aiming with my master eye(left) and fire with my right hand.

Hello Jitu
Being LED and shooting right handed is not a problem at all! I would like to know which pistol you have bought, if it is a steyr, morini, FWB or Walther, most of these pistols have grips which can be slightly rotated on their axis, in such a manner, that when you lift the pistol up, the sights (front and rear) are almost aligned naturally. Do let me know about your pistol and we will take it from there.
Regards

Hello Jitu Sati,
I am absolutely overjoyed to hear that you are a fauji and good with the 9mm. We share similar backgrounds. First thing first, the IZ is a pneumatic air pistol designed by the Russians, I have used that gun in 1996/97, at that time pneumatic pistols were the state of the art, with CO2 precision pistols just about making the mark through - Fienwerkbau, Walther and Steyr.
The IZ was miles ahead of the FWB Pneumatic pistol of that time, both in balance, superb sights and almost zero recoil. Being slightly under powered, the pistol handling and shootability value was excellent. The only drawback, was that the pistol had too many mechanical parts, hence slightly prone to malfunctioning. But I can tell you, these Russians really know their job.
Now what we will do,is I will guide you through the basics, step by step and we can have our discussion and lectures on this open forum, this will also help other shooters.
Finally, pardner, you may pm me your background in the army, if you are good with the 9mm, did you take part in the ARA? Also, another officer based in Kota, is shortly planning to open a club, there is already one in Jaipur.
Keep posting.
Regards
