Shopping Experience with Pyramyd Air

Hello IFG Members,
Can you please share your past shopping experience with
www.pyramydair.com.
Recently they have an excellent customer support and very prompt online chat response team.
Also they use UPS as their preferred shipping partner.
The Indian UPS team is very slow at handling customer queries. My consignment arrived Mumbai on the 9th Oct and no one has contacted me for the relevant documents to clear the shipment and in return I have contacted them almost every single day.
When I was on the phone with the Pyramyd Air customer service rep mentioned that they have shipped several consignments with scope and pellets. She also mentioned that today there was a regular customer from India who has placed an order for a rifle with scope.
Pyramyd Air customers please provide your opinion.
Regards,
Manicks

I was on a call today with the UPS clearance team.
The person at Clearance department seems to be very adamant and he stated that PELLETS are strict NO and there 3 other consignments held since last month due to the same reason. However he wanted me to send the attested copies (Membership card, Letter from club) through post. I am considering of writing a letter to the customs officer by cutting a sorry finger that I imported the pellets without having a understanding on the Govt Order that was passed and attaching along with the other letters.
Looks like there is a parcel for Bangalore, Hyderabad and Kolkatta which has been detained.
I am not sure if the parcel owners are members of IFG?
Regards,
Manicks

Are they still levying the US$50 surcharge on orders from India? I ask as I'm keen to import an IZH-60 (single shot version of the IZH-61) for my son (they're coming in later this year on Pyramyd Air and maybe a few other select dealers), and it seems ridiculous (at least to me) to to pay an additional $50 over and above the shipping charges for such a cheap airgun.
Cheers!

Hello Babu,
Over the last few months I guess the Mumbai customs guys are acting bit nosy and they don't seem to be clearing any shippment that includes Rifle with accessories.
But the safest route as per other importers is Fedex and they have the best contacts in Delhi, also they know the language to talk to the customs clearance.
UPS Mumbai team is hopeless and they are happy to tell their customers that your shippment will be confiscated if they have pellets.
Trust me. Govt should understand that allowing free import of Air Rifle makes no sense when don't want shooters to bring in Pellets. Probably they want us to practice by using nuts instead of pellets.
Thats the level of frustration I am going through.

Manicks

Sorry Abhijeet, missed out to read your thread.
I guess Pyramyd Air still got that extra charge will importing Rifle or Pistol through them.
Trust me, their service is too good. But the shipping that they do with UPS is hopeless when it reaches India.

Manicks

PA doesnt charge anything extra over and above the cost of rifle/pistol and shipping. If you want to get the IZH, get it tuned by Tim at Mac1. He does good job on them.

Tim from Mac Airgun is great person to talk to. He runs a store and he does the servicing and adjustments. However his choices are too limited.
PA gives good discounts but they are shipping is kind of pricey.

Dear Comrades,
Today I tried placing an order of Beretta PX4 Storm (without) pellets from Pyramydair. However within a couple of hours - got a mail from stating that the order was cancelled due to import regulations in India. Pls find below communication recd from them:
Your order #2886869 has been canceled.
We regret to inform you Pyramyd Air LTD is unable to ship this order due to import regulations or restrictions. Your order has been canceled.
If an alternate shipping address is available, please contact us to reinstate your order.
Thank you,
Order Processing Department
If not Pyramydair, where else can I import it from?
Looking forward to your guidance,
Cheers,
Rup

Just being curious.
Is this your 1st import with Pyramyd Air?
Pyramyd Air makes it mandate that the 1st order is through a US credit Card/ Bank transfer or they request you to make payment only through Paypal.

Shadow,
Did you order any CO2 cartridge or cleaning compound with the pistol?

Dear Rup,
Email them back with your rifle club membership ID card, with the DGFT notification stating that registered club members can import .177 cal rifles/pistols. Because there are many folks who order stuff from their website- who are not aware of the customs regulations- owing to which their pistols/rifles get confiscated, and then they blame the shipper and then Pyramyd. Do check with them.
Cheers,
N.

Dear Ebenezer,
I know there is a ban on import of CO2, cleaning compound & ammo and hence did not order anything other than Beretta PX4 Storm and a LED torch with laser as an accessory.

Dear silver9,
I do not have my membership card from MRA yet as it is in the process of getting converted from annual to life membership. I do have a copy of DGFT notification though. I was talking this morning to owner of Capapie Sports who is helping with import of my Steyr LP10. According to him, even if Pyramydair sends the pistol, it will get stuck in the customs as MRA may not give a letter for a BB gun as it is not used for match practice. Also they may not give a letter to import 2 air pistols (as will need a letter once my LP10 arrives in customs) at the same time especially since PX4 is for personal entertainment
. Also noone that he knows has tried this route before.
What can be done? Has any other member here tried & imported from other companies if not Pyramydair? Is Rifle Association's letter reqd?
Pls guide me to light!
Cheers,
Rup
