My first airgun with pics
Hi guys,
Recently i got my IHP 35 .177 cal from aimco. Great guy and great service and great packing too (had to spend half an hour trying to open the nailed box). Had shipped the rifle before the money was transferred. Today got some time to try it out.
First tried a few round in my backyard. But the neighbors started staring at me. So came indoors and made a pellet trap. At about 10 meters fired GSmith round head (high impact) and the Master Shot Export Quality pointed pellets. Overall i felt Master Shots were better for this rifle. They are very light and fits perfect. They were the ones which made holes in the box. The GSmith were a tight fit. I had to push it in. Most of the pellets bounced off hitting the box.
Overall the rifle is of OK quality. Not the best. The screws at the butt pad is rusted and i feel the open sight is not properly aligned. Its slightly towards left. Again cant expect much for the money i paid.
The tip of the gun sways when i take aim. So still have to get some practice.
I shot the box on both sides. The pellet didnt go thru the box on both sides. It was stuffed with newspapers.

Looks like fun, Swordfish! Shooting indoors will let you concentrate on your business, without the neighbor's nose to bother you. You can learn a lot, even from the shooting you are doing.

Re: My first airgun with pics
Despite repeated advice from my mom not to shoot crows, i shot one today. It was on sitting on a coconut tree at about 25-30 feet. Now i feel terrible. Thats it, i am not shooting any more crows or any other animals. I will stick to shooting cans and tins.

Aha ! We have another plinker in our midst
Give the crow a decent burial and move on.
Most of us here agree that there is great joy in shooting cans of all calibers

Congratts. and happy shooting.
cheers,

Sometimes, too much of trigger finger makes this miracle to happen that is the shot goes to little left almost one inch or so. Although I can not say that this is the problem in your case, just see if you are using less than the first inch of your finger for trigger.... if the problem still presists then it is the sight........ since this is a new rifle out of box, hence my comments.swordfish123 wrote:The screws at the butt pad is rusted and i feel the open sight is not properly aligned.
