Ace_Doc,

I think the quote you have got is on the higher side. Pyramydair is offering it at 399$ and with the pump.
http://www.pyramydair.com/p/benjamin-di ... ifle.shtml. Look at Topairgun too. A member here bought an airgun from them. Got the best price and the best service from them.

We have had packaging and Invoice issues with Mac1 earlier. He is a little 'difficult'. The price should be $400 for the gun + pump. There is a charge for payment by credit card too.... You should analyze and compare the overall charges and then decide.

HTH

Ace_doc,

I am Siddhardha from Florida and I have been dealing with MAC since 2005. I play around with customizing crosman pistols and Tim McMurray sold me quite a few items in last 4 years. He is considered one the best airgunsmith in North America. A very honest and helpful person.

Here is some info you might find helpful.

You can purchase a discovery from pyramid air for $399 including pump and centerpoint scope. This will be a brand new rifle in box.

Gunsmiths like Tim modify airguns for better performance. This includes, changing trigger systems, replacing springs for better performance, changing washers in air chambers for better performance. Email Tim and ask what modifications are performed on his rifle. Most of the times guns from these guys are much more efficient and powerful than off the shelf guns. If you look on yellow forum classifieds guns tuned by these guys go for much higher price than brand new guns.

I own two discovery rifles (.177&.22) and both of them are modified and tuned for performance by replacing with custom parts. Both my rifles can stack pellet on pellet at 25 yards mounted on a gun frame. You don't often run into guns that can do this straight out of box.

If you are into target shooting and all about performance go for a modified gun from guys like Tim. If you are just looking for a hobby rifles and precision is not very important you can go with a gun dealer like pyramid.

hope this helps.
