Chinese airguns in India.

Jonah's post in the Rifle section, "Its chinese made and looks very similar to the chinese made airguns that are freely available and most popular here in Mizoram." has got me thinking about what type of Chinese airguns are available in India.
Does anyone have some details and/or pics?

Hello Mack The Knife Chinese airguns are the most popular airguns in Mizoram and are freely available now thanks to Government Regulated Border Trade. The ones available sell for as much as 4000 - 6000 price varies and u can get them cheaper if you can get hold of a crossborder trader.

About 8 or 9 years ago there were a huge number of Chinese air pistols that were available in India, even sold on the streets of China Bazaar in Madras for about Rs 100 or so. They were all .177s and they were either the old Webley styles with the barrel swinging backwards over the cylinder or conventional break barrels. The quality was terrible and after about 1000 shots you could see the pellets as they flew out of the barrel.
I haven't seen any Chinese air rifles myself, but, knowing their quality standards for anything the Chinese manufacture, I wouldn;t expect too much. It's best that they stick to making paintball markers and airsoft stuff there.

Any precharged pneumatic BAMs (Daystate rip-off) find their way to India yet?

Mehul,
I did hear about Chinese airguns being sold in Chennai but nothing more until your post above.
The early Chinese airguns and even today's super budget models are still atrocious but they are also begining to make reasonably good stuff lately and do have a small following within the U.S. airgun community. Usually blatant copies of the Weihrauch HW80K and the Daystate Huntsman/Harrier.
The last two would easily put the National airguns to shame. Infact, I would probably buy the Daystate rip-off.

Or any TX200 clone. If i remember correctly modelb number was B40.

Yup that was the b40 though I 'd be quite okay with the R9 clone ...B3 or the QB78 . My friends in Nagaland had got their hands on one sometime in 1985.

you are right i have came across such chinese rifle some years back in my native which was a break barrell .177 cal bought at burma buzzar for 100 rs in late 80's or 90s. the accuracy is amazing and the finish and sight are great .the sight is like old 303 rifle and it have a side lever near the transfer port to open the barell. stock is also well shaped like diana
i asked for 5k but the guy refused it
