Hello guys,
I came across a site http://www.nationalairarms.com/products.htm,
which says the firing range is 120 meters with 100 meters as effective firing range.

(move you mouse over images to get details)

Is it true ? if so, i wold pick either of the 1st or 6th or 7th image model.

Please suggest.

Thanks

(very sorry for posting it under "For sale")

the airpistol seem interesting. The one on the RHS is surely a HW45/P1. According to the site, the pistol is gas powered. :-)

100 meters is quite possible in .177 cal. But not with every rifle....

Quite possible..just fill a lot of oil up the transfer port...fire and then either you or the pellet will soon be at 120m

Ok, cool guys,
from the replys posted , i understand it is a false statement given in web site.

Then what is the max and average firing range in Indian made air rifles. ?

Any one tried imported air rifles firing ranges ?

What is the way to increase the firing range in an IHP ?
as for pest hunting, increase in range will help a lot to me.

Thanks

pest hunting ?

I am sure you mean pest control...

Foreign airguns in .177 cal firing at 1000 fps should be capable of reaching the pellet at that distance. Haven't tried breaking a bottle beyond 50m still, but will post once it is done.... Bursting an egg at 65 yds is common though....

Muthu...''effective'' range is the right word...the IHP .177 can do 50m with a c t c of lets say 3''....though, I have knocked down cola cans at 70m with a tuned one using light pellets on a quiet day and a 12X magnification scope...this gun could be useful for pest control at 40 yards...increasing velocity is another theory....here is a link to one of Karizman's post regarding airgun efficiency...

http://indiansforguns.com/viewtopic.php ... &start=420

Most 1000fps .177 imported guns can clear 100m with ease ...

Even if 120 m is definetely not the range for an air rifle and if the pellet reaches that diatance it will group at 24 inches with a pellet drop of a good 2 ft, but for safety reasons consider it the range and ensure that an air rifle is fired with sufficient clearance.
