Hi MaddyNayak.

I thought for awhile about CO2 pistols, and guess there were some I liked, and some I did'nt. Since I have never owned one, I guess that counts me out on experience ... but for some info, here is a good link that lists out the top CO2 pistols in US, with rating, user feedbacks, price, etc:
http://www.reviewcentre.com/products133.html

Personally, I would rather opt for a Compressed Air pistol, instead of a CO2, owing to better consistency, accuracy, easier refilling, etc. Most importantly, a good compressed air pistol, like a Steyr or Walther is good match quality stuff, and extremely accurate. But since you mentioned that you want something for passion, and if one could translate that to less usage and more of show, then I would recommend the Colt 1901 (Nickel with wood), Benjamin Sheridan EB20, Crosman 357 (4 inch barrel blue and steel), Walther CP88 (Blued with wooden grips), S&W 686/586 (6inch/4inch barrel)Gamo V3, Beretta 92 FS, Desert Eagle Blow-Back, Gamo PT80; in that order.

You can find more reviews about everyone on PyramydAir.com, and can also purchase from them. (They mail to India)

Guess all of these use the CO2 powerlet cylinders, which are surely not impossible to source in India, although occasional price fluctuations and supply do occur.
The only difference would be the type of adaptation of these powerlets (threading or latching, etc).

If you plan to buy it thru PyramydAir, send me a PM, and I will send you a 5% discount code. Actually, I have two codes, and anyone else wanting one, is most welcome to PM me :)

hi tenx,
thanks a lot for ur reply i went through all the guns proposed by you... its too good,
i want to know the difference between co2 and compressed air gun (tried on google but got more confused) are compressed airgun and spring operated guns the same.
thanks again for your pyramydair discount coupon. but have asked my brother 2 get it from US.
will it be a problem, would it be better 2 get it via mail.( cos in the forum i read a few people facing problems via mail route.
i ll go ahead with wat ever way you people say is better not a problem
thanks
maddy :)

Yo Maddy.. even if your brother is getting it in US, he could still order it thru Pyramydair and save a few bucks.. They also deliver in US ;) .. and online is always cheaper than in stores, mostly!
Compressed air uses ordinary atmospheric air, instead of CO2, which means you can pump up the cylinders yourself. All it takes is a little hard thinking of your foes and bad times, and, VOILA, the cylinders are full!
Compressed air guns and spring air guns are not the same. There should be another thread that discusses the types of airguns.. we have spring-piston, pneumatic, compressed air, and CO2. In spring-piston, you cock the spring to its capacity, which releases a piston, on trigger pull, that pushes air to accelerate the pellet. In pneumatic, you push a piston that compresses air which, when released, thru the trigger, send the pellet flying. In CO2 and compressed air, a cylinder containing high pressure of either CO2 or air, respectively, releases its contents to shoot out the pellet. Its that simple :)
.. and since air is easier to find and re-fill than CO2, and does not matter much with temperature, etc, it would be the obvious winner.

i read all the posts regarding co2 pistols(your posts also where finding ways to refill cylinders :) ) and decided to go with your advice of buying a compressed air pistol.
but i searched pyrmydair and googled sites but could not find any specific pistol as compressed air pistol...
i tried reading through the posts but could not find the answer
please guide me through this....
please name a few good compressed air pistols.... and help me choose one
and also should i have be a member of any shooting club to get my gun through customs (atleast thats wat i understood from the posts i read )

and nice to know you are from bangalore hope to meet you people sometime
thanks
maddy

You wont find it listed as a 'compressed air pistol' look under the PCP (Pre-charged Pneumatic) section.

OUP is very right.. search as suggested by OUP ...
Also, you have to be a member of a registered association to get the customs exemption on your air gun. Better get that first :)

hmmm..... tenx my dream of getting a airpistol from US is kinda shattered. sadly from the forum i understand i need 2 wait for another 6 months for the clubmembership to re-open.
for once i thought of buyng something which is for sale on the site... but feel the prices are way too high compared to the actuals( but i can understand the complexity of getting one so might be worth).
planning to settel myself with the ihp co2 kind which you own... but again sadly there is a waiting for the same....
:D :D :D :D :D :D
