RWS (Diana) 48!!
So after years of trying out the cheap springers, finally went ahead and bought me a good old model 48. I waited all these years contemplating and trying to decide if a BAM or a Crosman or a Gamo would work for me... but they never did. (And I've been through about 6 airguns for me to say this!!) I've only fired a couple of shots so far... (It's FREEZING outside) but plan on doing more soon. The rifle looks and feels solid. While I prepare to break in the air rifle, do let me know if someone has a first hand experience with this babe. Especially what pellets to go for.
Cheers,
Amit

Hey congrats on your new rifle! I know the feeling of a getting a new one cause I picked up a HW77 for myself, not half an hour ago.
Going out in the garden to shoot it now.

Congratulations on the acquisition Amit!
I've always liked the 48, they have nice lines and I like how the stock fills up your hands.
I have a RWS 45, and pretty much just shoot the standard crosman pellets you get in the sporting goods section since that is pretty much the only thing available around here other than mail order, which requires more organization than I have at times! When I was ambitious back in the past I had good luck using RWS superdome pellets in my gun, but really the best thing to do would be to order a pellet sampler pack from some place like pyramid air:

Also, nothing wrong with filling a box with old newspaper and taping a target to it and shooting inside! Either from across the room or down a hallway, if you can pull it off without annoying the other inhabitants in the house it is a fun thing to do in the winter. Just don't miss that box!

Found this review that has a link to various pellet performances:

Congrats Amit!!
Try Crosman Premiers or JSB Exacts. Thats pretty much what the rest of teh airgunning world will tell you too!
Kodiaks are great too, albeit heavy.
Mo.

Congrats Amit. Have used a couple of 48s. They seem to like the heavier pellets. Diana pellets don't give a good grouping with the 48. Beeman silver arrow, Beeman Kodiak, Beeman Crow magnum, H&N Baracuda match, JSB exacts and the H$N diablo baracudas work best with the 48. When you order pellets online, get them from Pyramydair where the fourth tin always comes free. Happy plinking.
