Hi Morcos,
Welcome to IFG. Where do you reside in Chennai? The best among Indian made air rifles is the IHP. Don't ever try buying it from any dealer in Chennai as they all fleece people. Try buying it online from one of our IFG members Joy Biswas (
www.aimco.co.in). But I don't think the IHP has mount rails. There are various models in Indian made air rifles of which some have scope mount rails.

Ebenezer

Morcos,
There is a similar thread going on right now and you can refer to that for your query / requirement.

I am sure you meant a Webley & Scott 12 bore shotgun. Now if you have been using a 12ga shottie regularly, air gunning is going to be a very very "different" experience . Strange, because most people start with a air gun and then start shooting bigger calibers.
best,
RP.

Hi Morcos.
Welcome to IFG.
Regarding buying an air rifle, there are several discussion going on, and all eventually end up with advising for the IHP. And all agree that Aimco gives the best deal
For scope import, you will also find a lot of discussion. Do a search and you can find your answers.
Thinking of import, you could also import a nice Air rifle, if you have a club membership.
.. All the best in your search

You have to have a club membership Morcos.. no two ways about it
For risks and hidden facts, read other topic discussions on IFG...

Morcos,
You need to have a valid reason for importing an air rifle. So it is advisable to have a club membership. Once that is done, you can import an air rifle by courier or post, but it is restricted to .177 calibre. One of our members in Chennai, striker, has done it. Go through the topic 'airgun import experience via post/courier route' on this site. Or if you have someone coming from abroad you can ask them to bring one as personal baggage (there is no bore restriction on this). But, it will always run into the risk of being detained by the customs people and you will be asked to produce a certificate from the police commissioner's office stating that the airgun is not a firearm and it doesn't require a licence. In the prevailing situation, it is not advisable to do so.

Ebenezer

Morcos,
Telescopes will be available with all arms dealers. However, you have to be careful with the prices they quote. There are some for sale in IFG also (check the 'for sale' section).

... You will also have to get the railing done for the scope to fit onto the IHP rifle, since they do not come with scope-grooves...

Hi Morcos,
I have already made all enquiries in chennai about IHP 35 .22 but to no satisfying results.
you can see my painful experiences here:
http://indiansforguns.com/viewtopic.php ... &&start=15
The list provided is not complete coz I enquired with all dealers whomever i could google out. I did not note down all their quotations so only those which I could remember are provided. My research says aimco is much better.
So order it through them ...
Cheers !!!!

Contact striker in Madras for your scope. He will also guide you in putting the scope on your air rifle. He has done it on an IHP .22.
Since you mentioned onsite, you are into IT so I have some unsolicited advice for you. Before you just pop a question here do some RTFM. Its fun for yourself and will be appreciated on IFG particularly. The air rifle and gunsmith section here is a treasure trove of information.
If you go onsite to the states of Newyork or New Jersey, you wont be able to procure an air rifle, personally or my mail order or courier. Its not allowed in those two states. They have very strict laws with all types of guns.
