Hi

I would like the experts opinion on whether the piston seal is leather or synthetic can be differntiated/identifed in a springer without dismantling it and determined only by the performance or some simple troubleshooting. I want to know this because I am unsure of the seal present in my springer, it is around 6 months since I last used it and now I feel the power is a bit down. I have not oiled it.

Regards

Arun

While cocking sound creates by leather seal is different than synthetic seal. And it is more prominent when it gets old.

Secondly, in Synthetic seal if not tuned well, after few thousand shots, you will get lots of resistance while cocking and the sound will be more prominent.

That's the only way I think.
