Hi all,
My friend in Canada suggested this as a pretty consistant & powerful airrifle shooting at 1000 FPS, very close to a HW80.
He has suggested he could send one over by DHL couriers.
My son could use one of these.

I was working on the expences part, & would like your comments if there would be any hidden costs involved.

CAD $185 x @46/- = INR 8510.00
Add Courier charges approx INR 5700/-
Duty & Taxes exempted on .177 Calibre
Total Amount - INR 14210/- Not bad

I also expect a discount of $20.00

AFAIK, you cannot buy airgun in canada which is more than 600fps.

Dear Tirthis
you can, if u have a permit to own a "Adult Air Rifle"

Further the dealer has the valid permits to sell / trade 'adult air rifles"

In India there is no such 'Adult' ristriction, & the dealer has it in stock he is willing to sell.
so there should be no problem on this count.

Shamsher,

You will probably know this but just in case you don't, Winchester do not make airguns to the best of my knowledge. There is a lot of re-branding going on and this is almost certainly another example of this practice. Ask the shop owner whether this is a rebranded Mendoza, Hatsan or a Chinese make and let me know. Don't get carried away by the 1000 fps figure.

If your decision isn't dictated by a very strict budget, I would steer clear of this air-rifle and use this opportunity to get your son something better. How old is he?

Dear Mack The Knife
I guess it would still be better than a IHP.

If you check that site they even sell the one where you can pump air in the cyllender & choose the power of your shot

They sell it at CAD 85.00

Son is 9 years old

next month he will become a member of this site too.

Shamsher, unless he is a tall lad, the reach to pull may be a bit too long for him. Ask the shop to give you this dimension.

Shamsher, I imported one of these for a friend. It's actually a turkish made hatsan. The fiber optic sights are cheap plastic and the cocking lever scraped against the insert in the stock when cocking the rifle. I would not recommend going through all the hassle to import one of these.

You are better off importing a RWS 34 panther for just a bit more.

Cheers
GG
