Hello all

The question that

What is the best we can get from a desi gun using desi pellets (nobody is going to waste imported pellets in desi guns )
was in my mind for last a few months so i decided to review one by one



i had a start with a kolkata made 22cal air gun

Distance 10 m

Two positions standing and bench rested

Surprisingly the result was not too much annoying

i took 15 mins to shoot 5 shot per card per position

the gun was properly zeroed {as precisely as i can do and may be more than that phewww.....}
and here is the result

You might want to try the following:

When benched:

1. Instead of having your thinb across the stock align it along the axis of the rifle.
2. Ensure that the trigger is actually rested in the first joint of the finger.

Seems to me you might be yanking/jerking rather than breaking the trigger.

Another thing you might want to try is to balance a small coin on the gun, and when you pull the trigger, if it falls off you're flinching.

please dont point out the trigger (i am too frustated with it)

One small question though.. if the gun is properly zeroed, the grouping should be around the center of the target, right

My guess is he is using too much trigger finger, and is renching to the right and/or flinching. What was the sequence of the shots?

acctually i used a "bankh" for zeroing
what you call it in english i dont know

a instrument to hold objects tightly on the table?

what you see down and right is shurly the trigger pull but cant help myself

Sitar it will come with practise. Keep shooting, concentrating on technique and your groups will iprove.

bankh is also called shikanja in hindi
but damn it what it is called in english

A vise?

I know that feeling.. when its the end of your tongue but just wont spill out.

One way for this 'memory-lapse' would be to tell your mind "Whats it called' and just keep quiet; get on with other things; forget it... and in a while ... BANG! ... it just comes out ...

A few years back I changed the scope of my .22LR
I fixed the gun in the Vise (Bankh).
and fired a shot at the wall approx 32 yards away.
& I zeroed the cross to the dent in the wall.


Been shooting straight since.

Shamsher.. I guess the zeroing on a vice and when held without support will vary. Personal variables, like cheek pressure, actual grip, etc will vary, and some shooters will have to give a few clicks here and there to change a vice-zeroing to personal-zeroing.
Matter of fact, this zeroing varies from shooter to shooter too.

If your vice-setting is same as your personal-setting, then it means you have ...
...a 'VICE-LIKE GRIP'.
