Air Guns

Post by Bapu » Wed Sep 10, 2008 10:27 pm

Hi guys,

I plan to travel to Italy end of this month therefore kindly advice which air gun to bring along in .22cal for plinking around.

PCP or Pre Charged eg. Eliminator.

Would there be any problem with customs?

Any good stores in Italy?

At present I own a RX 2 Beeman.

Thanks.

If I am not mistaken you need a licence to buy an airgun in Italy. May be different if they export it directly to your address but in that case it will have to be in .177" calibre.

Thanks Mack The Knife.

How do I check that?

Just in case if I can manage then which one?

You could check by asking on www.airgunbbs.com and whilst you are at it, also ask for a list of shops in the areas you are visiting and the brands they carry.

BTW, PCP and Pre-charged stand for one and the same thing (PCP = Pre-Charged Pneumatic). The Eliminator works on the gas-ram principle and is one of those rifles you will either love or hate because it needs a knack to shoot accurately. Before buying one try cocking it as it can be too much for some people.

The Eliminator has a High Efficiency gas ram, as opposed to the other gas rams it makes. Though I haven't used this gun, someone who has says the HE is a superior type, with less cocking effort and higher power.

At the price range of Eliminator, PCPs would be better IMO.
