Khurmi gun works air rifle

Post by R-Dhillon » Tue Sep 02, 2008 2:01 pm

Hey people,
Yesterday, I went to a friends house and saw his .22 cal air rifle. It was a Khurmi gun works...I have seen Khurmi shotguns but fired the Khurmi rifle for the first time...I found the trigger to be better than the IHP...the barrel was rifled and was better than the IHP...the front sight was similar to the BRNO .22 rimfire...the quality of the rear sight, stock and butt pad was far superior than the IHP...but I dont think, that they are in production anymore...Anyone seen or fired or owned it...please post your experiences...
Regards,
R.Dhillon...

Yes I have. They were manufactured by this well known gun house in Jammu. I saw the guns in Ludhiana. They were offered in 177 calibre only and were a ditto copy of the National model 25. The stocks were of better quality full grained wood and finished better. Yes, the rifling was equal or better than the National rifles. They were nice snappy pieces and competitively priced. Unfortunately Messrs Khurmi were did not do good business in air gunning and sadly soon gave up the venture

R-Dhillon,

Seem to have contradicted you on the calibre. I could be wrong.

Hi Yogesh..
I was referring to the Khurmi Air Rifles, which were supposed to be far superior to the IHP ones... and they dont require a permit :)

A shotgun with a barrel length of less than 20inches is classified as a PB firearm. I hope your brother has a PB licence for the same.

dear kunal khurmi,
it is nice to see that you have taken interest in our forum. It is indeed very unfortunate to have family problem in view to a traditional business. There is always a great demand for standerd gun/rifle in india where customer
expects a friendly accountable manufacturer who will fathom with time.
There are already some favourable comments in this forum about your air rifle and i can say some of the suggestions are given by mambers in other threads towards improvement in respect of accuracy and power are par excellant which hardly cost you any extra money.
I expect you to resume soon and also take into account various pactical experience shared by mambers.

kunal ,
Khurmi gun works manufactur 12 bore in o/u version with en19 or en24 barrels as these shotguns as required by most of shotgun lovers.
Till date there is no good quality O/U avaliable ,those avaliable are of unacceptable standard.

Kunal Khurmi,

A warm welcome to this forum . May be you can start a new thread about Messers khurmi .

1. Would you mind elaborating on the new models that you are planning to launch in the near future ?

2. Have the decision/policy makers of your company contemplated on bringing out a pump action or even a lever action shotgun? I am curious as to what stops the Jammu gun makers from giving a wider product range to the consumer ? Now possibly only the IOF has the permission to make PA , but if there is a good quality reliable lever action Indian shotgun, I would definitely want to own one. ( I don't care about the ancient design , I in fact like it)

3. Another gun maker from Jammu is soon coming up with a single trigger mechanism for his SXS and O/U shotguns, are you planning anything similar ?

best,

Rp.
It's always better to have a gun and not need it than need a gun and not have it !
