Welcome to IFG, Raghav.
You can get started by plinking at the 10 mt range at Siri Fort Sports complex. Several pistol shooters including Jaspal Rana frequent it. So if you're looking for guidance, its a good place to begin with.
FYI competitions are held with 0.177 cal, whats the make and model of the pistol by the way ?

Great to see inspirations turn into actions... Welcome to IFG

I just want to caution on a few notes:
1> Dont judge your shooting by the gun (or the score). If you can shoot in the same place (even the corner of the target) continuously, then you are a great shooter.
2> Work once begun is 50% done

You will pick up with your shoooting, see what else you need (including gun upgrades, ect). This will NOT happen overnight, and give it its due course. All the while, hold on to your enthu, and consider them seeds for a great fruit giveing tree tomorrow.
3> Everyone began with mistakes. Some still do. Champions find out their mistakes, accept it, and correct it. As long as you can do it, just know that you are improving a percentage everyday. This is growth and eventual success.
All the best dude...

Raghav,
I have a nephew your age, and can very well understand the SMS texting syndrome that has taken over, but would advise you against using shorthand text-ing, since most of us prefer the normal usage.
It would help to check

Now, now, whatever you may feel from this post, please take it positively and may this, in no way, have any ill-effects on your enthusisasm.
Cheers

At the level that you are getting into, like the 10m event, there is probably no important difference for you to consider between the .177 and the .22
But, for all practical purposes, considering that all National and International matches in Air Pistol and Air Rifle are conducted in the .177 calibre only, it would be advisable to begin with that...
