I'm extremely disappointed with the district authority's recent ruling. Instead of addressing the pressing issue of illegal hunting, they're choosing to restrict law-abiding air rifle enthusiasts like myself. This decision is not only misguided but also unfair. It's ridiculous to penalize responsible hobbyists while failing to tackle the real problem of illegal hunting.

I agree this is sad but it's not the first time time that the innocent have had to pay along with the guilty. The guilty must be getting a queer delight in killing of birds etc and the authorities may have come to know of that. You would be shocked and surprised to know the extent some of these sadists go to get some joy.
I feel the maturity of holding a gun, any gun , must be essential otherwise the innocent too will be punished.

This decision should be challenged in court in my opinion. Please file a RTI seeking data about how many birds and squirrels has been killed using ONLY air guns in last three years , what kind of survey has been conducted ? and if the Forest Department could not furnish a credible data , then use that RTI as evidence and challenge this decision in court , that based on assumption this ban has been imposed with no credentials. Catapult, Bow and Arrow and many other weapons can be procured and used to kill the same and there is no rational to ban air guns completely also mention that Air gun is a sports equipment in shooting sports and it will deprived all sports shooter and prospective medal winners in Arunachal Pradesh and their sports career because of this baseless decision . If this has not been challenged , tomorrow we may see this gets implemented in other states too. Just my Opinion
